Uncovering pain points
Through a detailed analysis of the current implementation, I identified key user pain points by examining the target audience and their primary goals. These insights became the foundation for reframing the platform's design to better align with user needs.
General takeaways
Users find the website cluttered and overwhelming, leading to difficulty navigating and finding relevant information
Users might feel overwhelmed by the amount of text and the difficulty in discerning the course's key value propositions
They may find it challenging to locate specific information, like fees or course duration, without searching through dense content
They may experience confusion due to inconsistent use of color and typography, and unclear CTAs
Complaints could arise from the cumbersome navigation and the lack of a clear, simple process for enrollment or inquiry
Users with accessibility needs might find the site challenging due to readability issues
Redesign
Embarking on a mission to redefine stakeholder expectations and align them with user realities, a workshop extravaganza unfolded. Over 20 hours in just three days, these immersive sessions became the crucible for MVP definition. We dissected the true essence of an MVP, meticulously categorized features into must-haves, nice-to-haves, and desires, and laid out a comprehensive roadmap. The result? A strategically crafted MVP proposal, a tangible guidepost for the project's success.
Results and Business Outcomes
This project was undertaken as both a design exercise and part of an interview process, not for a real paying client. While specific outcomes aren’t available, I’m confident the redesign would have significantly improved user satisfaction, engagement, and conversion rates.
Conclusion
The redesign of the course platform addressed the critical pain points identified during the analysis phase. By creating a more intuitive structure, I significantly reduced cognitive overload and improved the overall user experience.
The refined visual hierarchy and consistent design system enhanced readability and accessibility, ensuring that users could easily navigate the platform and find key information.
Through a systematic design approach, I built a cohesive interface that aligns with user needs and promotes engagement.
While this project was part of an exercise rather than a real-world implementation, the proposed solutions are grounded in best practices and would likely increase user satisfaction, engagement, and conversion rates if implemented.
